5.5 AVL System <br /> 5.5.1 An Automatic Vehicle Location ("AVL") System, within the context of this <br /> Agreement, acquires vehicle location information via GPS signaling using an <br /> antenna and receiver in each vehicle. That location information is then <br /> transmitted by the Mobile Data System in the vehicle (via commercial <br /> wireless) to the ECC. <br /> 5.5.2 County Responsibilities. The County is responsible for the following AVL <br /> System hardware, software, and services: <br /> 5.5.2.1 Computing hardware platform (e.g., servers) on which the <br /> County-provided AVL System software operates. <br /> 5.5.2.2 Server/host-based AVL application software for the County- <br /> provided AVL System. <br /> 5.5.2.3 Applications that are licensed to the County as part of the AVL <br /> System. <br /> 5.5.2.4 Interfaces between the AVL System and the CAD and Mobile <br /> Systems. <br /> 5.5.2.5 Licenses for AVL System client software to be used on end user <br /> computing devices, and software maintenance, including updates. <br /> 5.5.2.6 Written installation standards/guidelines. <br /> 5.5.3 Member Responsibilities. Each Member is responsible for the following AVL <br /> System hardware, software, and services: <br /> 5.5.3.1 Vehicle antennas and the installation of those antennas including <br /> cabling and other required hardware and services. <br /> 5.5.3.2 GPS receivers (radios) and the installation of those in vehicles. <br /> 5.5.3.3 Physical connections between the GPS receivers and the mobile <br /> data system computing devices (laptop, tablet) in the vehicles (if <br /> GPS is not built into the devices) and verification that GPS position <br /> data is being relayed to the device and mobile application. <br /> 5.6 End User Computing Devices <br /> 5.6.1 End user computing devices such as desktops, laptops and tablets provide a <br /> means to access and input CAD and Mobile Data information. End user <br /> computing devices may be handheld, connected to building networks or <br /> installed in vehicles. <br /> 5.6.2 County Responsibilities. The County is responsible for the following end user <br /> computing device hardware, software, and related services: <br /> 5.6.2.1 Providing and maintaining end user computing devices and <br /> associated operating system software for the end user computing <br /> devices at the ECC. <br /> CAD and Mobile Data Agreement Ramsey County and User Members Page 12 of 48 <br />
