Public Safety Commission <br /> October 28, 2013 <br /> Attending: Commissioner Allen, Commissioner Benke, Commissioner Donohue, <br /> Commissioner Hollimon, Commissioner Kerns, Commissioner Kocon, <br /> Commissioner Kroll, Commissioner Lamp, Commissioner Schumann, <br /> Commissioner Woods, Director Jacobson, Council Member Bauman, and <br /> Dave Matteson (Allina Health) <br /> Absent: N/A <br /> Call to Order/Roll Call <br /> Commissioner Allen called the October meeting to order at 6:30 pm and roll call was taken. <br /> September Meeting Minutes <br /> The September meeting minutes were reviewed. Commissioner Woods made a motion to <br /> approve the September meeting minutes; Commissioner Lamp seconded. Motion carried. <br /> Public Hearing/Presentation <br /> No Public Hearing or Presentation. <br /> Updates <br /> A. Citizen Corps Council <br /> No Report. <br /> Department Reports <br /> A. Human Rights <br /> No report. <br /> B. Allina Health <br /> Mr. Dave Matteson reported Allina Health has signed a lease in Arden Hills for 2,600 sq. ft. to <br /> house a generator; trailers, etc. They will also post 1-2 rigs at this location. <br /> Allina Health will also purchase a portable generator for backup at the Mounds View location. <br /> This is in response to when the power was out for 2-3 days. Mr. Matteson reported hiring two <br /> new supervisors; he now has 4 supervisors. <br /> Mr. Matteson reported Allina Health participated in an Active Shooter training scenario at <br /> Northwestern College. They trained on 3 Echo Active Incident Response which is where <br /> police/tactical personnel are teamed up with EMS/fire responders before the scene is secure for • <br /> triage and evacuation before the scene is secure. Mr. Matteson reported this was really good <br /> training and that these types of trainings help to build relationships with the other emergency <br /> responders. <br />
