Mr. Grant Wyffels
March 28, 2014
Page 2
10. Disinfecting vessels and providing bacteriological testing.
11. ASME vessel re- certification
12. Removal of existing and providing new inlet distributor piping for all vessels.
13. Removal of existing and providing new air wash distributor piping for all vessels.
During work on filter vessel #4, it was determined that new underdrain nozzles, gravel retaining screens,
and inlet distributor piping (alternate bid items) will be required during rehabilitation. It is anticipated
that these items will be required for all vessels.
Many of the stainless steel studs used to hold the gravel retaining screen in place were damaged and need
to be replaced. Rice Lake has provided a time and materials cost for replacement of these items. A
Change order will be processed for this additional work related to the stud replacement.
Barr recommends payment of this invoice in the amount of $57,465 to Rice Lake Construction Group.
This represents the invoice amount ($60,500) minus 5% retainage. The amount remaining in the original
contract is $592,485. Please see the enclosed invoice for further details.
Please call me at 952- 832 -2693 if you have questions regarding this project or any of the projects related
to the NBCGRS.
Respectfully yours,
V-6 V)'C/
Julia Macejkovic, P.E.
Enclosure
cc: Rice Lake Construction Group
PAMpls \23 MN\62 \2362210 \WorkFiles\Maintenance Projects\2014 ProjectsWilter RehabilitationTonstruction \(G) Pay
applications\PAITA l.docx
