Update on Pulte Homes project
Director Fernelius has been working with the PCA and Pulte, currently the PCA needs to respond to
Pulte's most recent response. It was reported that the main reason for the delay is due to change in
personnel at the PCA. Commissioners Zelm and Potter questioned if that portion of the site could
remain undeveloped. Fernelius responded that would negatively affect the economics of the
development. Fernelius suggested the vapor issue is heightened because of a recent issue in SE
Minneapolis.
Update on dump venting work
Director Fernelius reported that the City has been monitoring wells and vapors in the area near Block E,
and an elevation in methane was discovered. The City will drill a series of wells and add additional
"candy canes." The PCA noted that this is an effective method. Fernelius stated that the City may want
to coordinate this work with CSI depending upon timing. The City should make a decision on this
within the next month; bids are to be accepted within 60 days. Commissioner Murlowski stated that he
would recluse himself from any conversations regarding the bids; as he has an affiliation with a
company that submitted a bid.
EDC Commissioner Update
Director Fernelius thanked commissioners Zisla, Neumann- Walker and Potter for their service, and
encouraged them to re -apply for an additional term.
Chair Zisla commented that a March meeting would be advisable in order to get updates in the various
issues discussed.
Adiourn
Motion by Commissioner Peck, seconded by Commissioner Zelm to adjourn the meeting.
6 Ayes, 0 Nays, Motion carried
Meeting adjourned at 8:54 am
Portion of meeling may be closed by the Economic Development Commission to discuss pending offers on the
sale of real properly pursuant to Minnesota Statutes 13D. 05.
