Call to Order <br />The meeting was called to order at 6:34 p.m. by Chair Frischman <br />Roll Call <br />Members present: Commissioners Brunell, Fields, Frischman (Chair), Kunesh- <br />Podein, Lundberg, Parker, Council Liaison Strub <br />Members absent: None <br />Also Present: Sandy Breuer, Director of Parks and Recreation; Chris Wolla, <br />Parks Superintendent and Jason Hicks, Facilities Manager <br />III. Minutes of February 5, 2014 <br />MOTION BY COMMISSIONER KUNESH- PODEIN, SECONDED BY ADAM <br />PARKER, TO APPROVE THE FEBRUARY 5, 2014 MINUTES AS SUBMITTED. <br />IV. Correspondence <br />None <br />V. Old Business <br />a. Crossing / trail recommendations for: <br />• County Road E2 Bridge (2016) <br />MOTION BY COMMISSIONER FIELDS, SECONDED BY <br />COMMISSIONER LUNDBERG, TO RECOMMEND THE PROPOSED <br />IMPROVEMENTS AS STATED. MOTION CARRIED. <br />The motion reads as follows: <br />TO RECOMMEND TO THE NEW BRIGHTON CITY COUNCIL TO <br />REQUEST THE FOLLOWING REGARDING THE CR E2 BRIDGE: <br />1) 10 -Foot Multi -Use Trail on the South Side of CR E2 from 5th Avenue <br />NW to connect into Arden Hills Current Trail System Which Currently <br />Begins at New Brighton Road. Preferred type of material: Concrete <br />2) A 6 -foot concrete sidewalk on the North Side of CR E2 from 5th Avenue <br />NW to the 2nd Ave NW. A pedestrian on -road crossing is placed at 3rd <br />Avenue NW (or the safest possible point determined by City <br />Engineering staff). <br />3) *A 6 -Foot On -Road Bike Lane from 5th Ave. NW, proceeding across <br />the Bridge and Connecting into the Current Pedestrian Crossing at <br />Tony Schmidt Regional Park in Arden Hills on the North Side. <br />4) This area is considered a Gateway off the freeway and a "Welcome to <br />New Brighton" monument sign and lights are included in this project. <br />*PREC recognizes that the City of New Brighton can only recommend the Arden <br />Hills connections are made after leaving the bridge to the east. For safety <br />reasons, if Arden Hills does not want an on -road bike line to connect into New <br />
