May 13, 20t4 Page 4 of 4 <br />Commission Liaison Reports, Announcements and Updates <br />Bob Jacobson <br />Acting City Manager Jacobson reported Katie Bruno has resigned her position and would be <br />taking a position with the City of Columbia Heights. He wished her well in the future. <br />Gina Bauman <br />Councilmember Bauman provided an update on the Irondale Robotics Team noting they would <br />be heading to state. She discussed the Comcast cable franchise at length noting the City would <br />need to make a decision regarding this matter by June 21 St. She expressed concern with the <br />negotiations to date and did not want to see local programming change. She recommended the <br />Council work shop this item with Cor Wilson in attendance. <br />Mary Bur>: <br />Councilmember Burg discussed the proposed directional signage that would be posted at the <br />Community Center. She reviewed the presentation Officer Hamdorf gave at the last Public <br />Safety Commission meeting regarding safety management. She noted this week was National <br />Law Enforcement Week and thanked all of the City's public safety volunteers. She wished <br />Katie Bruno all the best. <br />Paul Jacobsen <br />Councilmember Jacobsen noted he attended a Northwest Youth and Family services luncheon <br />last week. He commented the EDC would meet on May 21St at 7:30 a.m. <br />Brian Strub <br />Councilmember Strub reported the PREC met on May 7th and three new members were <br />welcomed to the Commission. He noted on May 17th there would be a Mini Cooper Caravan <br />running through the City. <br />Mayor Jacobsen <br />Mayor Jacobsen reported he met with six area mayors to discuss the Comcast cable franchise. <br />He believed that the city councils would need more information before a vote was taken on this <br />matter. <br />Adjournment <br />Motion by Councilmember Burg, seconded by Councilmember Jacobsen to adjourn the <br />meeting. <br />5 Ayes, 0 Nays- Motion Carried, <br />Meeting adjourned at 7:10 p.m. <br />Dave Jacobsen, Mayor <br />ATTEST: <br />Karen Halley, Deputy City Clerk <br />Commission Liaison <br />Reports, <br />Announcements and <br />Updates <br />Adiournment <br />The meeting adjourned <br />at 7:10 p.m. <br />
