May 27, 2014 <br />Motion by Councilmember Burg, seconded by Councilmember Jacobsen to authorize staff to solicit <br />quotes to stripe and/or paint basketball courts as recommended by PREC on January 15, 2014. <br />5 Ayes, 0 Nays -Motion Carried <br />Commission Liaison Reports, Announcements and Updates <br />Dean Lotter <br />City Manager Lotter reported the League of Minnesota Cities Conference would be held on <br />June 18 -20, 2014. Those interested in attending should contact staff. He noted City staff has <br />been working on key points on the CSI negotiations and a Special City Council meeting would <br />be held on June 2nd to address their requests. He discussed the action the City was taking <br />against the Army. <br />Gina Bauman <br />Councilmember Bauman stressed the fact that the City's water was clean and safe; and she did <br />not want to create fear among residents. City Manager Lotter further discussed the testing that <br />was conducted on the City's drinking water on a monthly basis noting the City did have clean <br />and safe drinking water. He reported the City was simply requiring the Army to be held to <br />promises previously made to the City. <br />Mary Burg <br />Councilmember Burg congratulated Firefighter Chris Rother for running the Med Cities <br />Marathon on May 24th. She noted five public safety members would be running Grandma's <br />Marathon on June 21St. She discussed the Memorial Day parade and was pleased by the level <br />of participation. She noted the Public Safety Commission would meet again on June 30, 2014 <br />at 6:30 p.m. at the Public Safety Department. <br />Paul Jacobsen <br />Councilmember Jacobsen reported the EDC met last week and discussed CSI along with <br />economic development. <br />Brian Strub <br />Councilmember Strub reported the Council approved renovations for Eurotech this evening. <br />He commented that on Sunday, June 1St at Long Lake Park from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. he would be <br />attending the Rhubarb Fest for the Historical Society. He indicated PREC would be meeting <br />again on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 where the group would be touring various City parks. He <br />stated on Saturday, June 7th the City would be hosting a triathlon. <br />Mayor Jacobsen <br />Mayor Jacobsen reported he would be attending the League of Minnesota Conference in St. <br />Cloud June 18 -20.
