April 22, 2014 <br />City Manager Lotter reported he would be interviewing candidates for the Facilities Manager <br />at the Community Center on April 23, 2014. He stated he would be attending the Metro Cities <br />Annual Meeting on Thursday, April 24, 2014. <br />Gina Bauman <br />Councilmember Bauman commented the Planning Commission met on April 15, 2014. City <br />Planner Gundlach provided the Council with an update on the Belair/Murlowski property <br />regarding the sound mitigation benn. It was noted staff would continue to work with the <br />applicant on this matter. Councilmember Bauman thanked City Planner Gundlach for her <br />work on this issue. She provided the Council with a report on the CTV IComcast hearing, <br />which was held on April 18, 2014. She appreciated all those in attendance and summarized a <br />portion of the comments received. <br />Mary Burg <br />Councilmember Burg reported the New Brighton Historical Society would be holding an <br />annual meeting on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at 1 :00 p.m. and at 2:00 p.m. the author of The <br />Longest Night, would be making a presentation. She invited all to attend this free event. She <br />stated the Public Safety Commission would meet again on April 28, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. at the <br />Public Safety Building. She thanked all residents who attended the Town Hall event. She <br />commented the New Brighton Volunteer Appreciation Dinner would be held at the Community <br />Center on Sunday, May 4, 2014 at 5:00 p.m. <br />Paul Jacobsen <br />Councilmember Jacobsen reported the EDC met on April 16, 2014 and discussed the CSI <br />project along with the business subsidy policy. He thanked Ehlers for their assistance with the <br />business subsidy policy. <br />Brian Strub <br />Councilmember Strub welcomed the new fire fighters to the City of New Brighton, stating he <br />attended the Fire Appreciation Banquet on April 12, 2014. He noted on April 19, 2014 he <br />attended the Easter Egg Hunt at Driftwood Park. He thanked the Rotary Club for putting on <br />this fantastic event. He explained that on April 21, 2014 he served as a judge at a STEAM <br />competition at Edgewood Middle School. He noted he spoke to a group of kindergartners on <br />April 22, 2014 at Belair Elementary School. He indicated the Park and Recreation <br />Commission would meet again May 7, 2014. He reported on Thursday, May 8,2014 the local <br />library would have a Music at the Library celebration. <br />Mayor Jacobsen <br />Mayor Jacobsen reported he would be traveling to Fergus Falls on Friday and Saturday for the <br />Minnesota Mayor's Conference. He indicated he had spoken with the County Commissioner <br />regarding the need for a safe crosswalk near a county trail.
