Not Approved <br /> Commissioner Nichols Matkaiti asked if there are other areas zoned mixed use in the City.City Planner Gundlach <br /> explained the mixed use district is very small, included in the MX zoning are the Hilton Homewood Suites, <br /> Beisswengers Hardware,Applewood Pointe and the property at 1820 Old Highway 8. <br /> Motion by Commissioner McPherson, seconded by Commissioner Nichols-Matkaiti to close the Public <br /> Hearing. <br /> The Public Hearing was closed at 7:40. <br /> Motion by Commissioner McPherson, seconded by Commissioner Danger to approve the staff <br /> recommendation. <br /> 6-0 Approved. <br /> (C) Volunteers of America-Minnesota requests consideration that a residential re-entry center, which <br /> provides assistance to prisoners who are nearing release, be added to the list of permitted uses in <br /> the MX, Mixed Use zoning district per Zoning Code Section 6-520(4) (D). *REMOVED <br /> 7. Commission Business <br /> (A) Volunteers of America Minnesota request an appeal of a staff determination that a residential re- <br /> entry center, which provides assistance to prisoners who are nearly release, is not a use that is <br /> considered similar to the uses in Zoning Code Section 6-540(2) (E) and is therefore not eligible to <br /> apply for a Special Use Permit. *REMOVED <br /> Commissioner McPherson questioned the status of the recent request from ISD 621 for a parking lot expansion at <br /> the Pike Lake Education Center. City Planner Gundlach reported that request has been withdrawn by the <br /> applicant. <br /> Adjournment: <br /> Motion by Commissioner Shardlow, seconded by Commissioner McPherson to adjourn the <br /> meeting. <br /> Meeting adjourned at 7:43 PM <br /> 3 <br />
