To <br />provide analytical and problem - solving support to various departments on GIS - related issues, including the interpretation of <br />data, mapping of information and special reporting, as needed. To assist with other planning and zoning related items and the <br />represent, administer and enforce all land use, planning and zoning code and related activities under the direction of the <br />Planning Director. This position will also evaluate the technical and day to day operations of the Community Assets and <br />Development in a manner that ensure municipal engineering projects are designed, approved, scheduled and completed on <br />time and within the authorized budget <br />Essential Accountabilities and Expected Outcomes <br />I ) Produce map layouts, datasets and other spatial information as requested by staff, the public and other agencies. <br />r Maps and information are created and distributed in an accurate and time manner. <br />2) Provide analytical and problem - solving support to various departments on GIS - related issues. <br />Y Assemble information from various in -house and external databases. <br />'o Conduct mapping and/or other spatial analysis of information. <br />'r' Analyze data to identify trends or special areas of concern. <br />Help other staff understand the significance of data. <br />v Provide suggestions an additional datasets or other information that might be examined for potential cause and effect. <br />3) Coordinate, manage and update the City's GIS system, spatial databases and GIS applications. <br />Y All spatial layers, GIS datasets, metadata and GIS projects are updated and maintained. <br />v Ensure that accurate parcel -ievet datasets are obtained from Ramsey County on a regular basis. <br />4) Initiate, manage and complete special GIS related projects intended to assist staff with data and information needs, <br />provide data access to the public and/or further the City's GIS program. <br />Special GIS projects are completed to address specific issues. Examples include housing condition surveys and <br />interactive web - mapping. <br />r Provide support to Public Works /Engineering on Utility Mapping, including water, sewer, storm water and water main <br />break mapping.
