kk * Of <br />I(BRUTON <br />The city thai irnrks for you <br />Position Title: <br />Department / Location: <br />Immediate Supervisor: <br />Grade Level; <br />Position & FLSA Status: <br />Date of Latest Revision: <br />Position Summary: <br />City of New Brighton, Minnesota <br />Position Job Description <br />Civil Engineer 11 <br />Public Works - Engineering / City Hall <br />Director of Public Works <br />9 <br />Full Time- Exempt <br />November 2014 <br />To contribute engineering technical expertise through all phases of preparation, coordination, construction, and <br />evaluation of public improvement projects pertaining to the City's infrastructure. <br />Essential Accountabilities and Expected Outcomes <br />1 ) Contributes to the preparation of plans and specifications for public improvement projects, including related <br />project notifications to residents and preparation of project assessment rolls. <br />;o Clear, precise plans and specifications give direction to contractors on what needs to be done on a project <br />and what criteria must be met. Contractors understand and complete the project accordingly. <br />r Recommendations and team collaboration consistently produce workable projects that strike the desired <br />balance among practical, cost and ,political solutions, <br />i+ Residents understand the how, what and why of construction projects that will directly affect their property.. <br />Questions and concerns are answered promptly and thoroughly, <br />i+ Assessment rolls of properties being certified to Ramsey County as benefiting from public improvement <br />projects are verified prior to review by the PW Director and consideration by the City Council. <br />2) Assists the Director of Public Works with schedufing, drafting, and supervising the preparation of improvement <br />project plans, specifications, reports, and studies. <br />r Effective supervision and technical expertise facilitates projects that are prioritized, planned, designed, <br />approved and initiated through a coordinated team effort. <br />3) Assists the Director of Public Works with managing and monitoring the construction of public improvement <br />projects as identified in the department's annual work plan. <br />r Projects are completed on schedule and within the approved budget. <br />y Work plan and strategic plan components for which responsible are successfully achieved and produce <br />observable, measurable and sustainable results. <br />4) Creates, updates and continually improves GIS maps and databases for use by engineering, maintenance, <br />other City departments and the general public.
