Report No. 14-281. <br /> <br />City Manager Lotter indicated Public Safety Director Jacobson would be presenting this item to the Council. <br />Public Safety Director Jacobson explained two firefighters would be retiring from the New Brighton Public <br />Safety Department. He recognized Tom Roback and presented him with a plaque and watch. He noted <br />Duane Bousema was unable to attend this evening. <br />Mayor Jacobsen read a proclamation in full recognizing Firefighters Tom Roback and Duane Bousema for <br />their years of dedicated service to the City of New Brighton. A round of applause was offered by all in <br />attendance. <br /> <br /> 2. Presentation of Civilian Service Award. Report No. 14-282. <br /> <br />City Manager Lotter indicated Public Safety Director Jacobson would be presenting this item to the Council. <br />Public Safety Director Jacobson recognized Mr. Lars Karlson and presented him with the Civilian Service <br />Award and thanked him for his heroic actions that took place on September 27, 2014 where he assisted with a <br />citizen’s arrest of an unlicensed motorcyclist that had endangered the safety of his neighborhood.
