He noted that Craig <br />Rapp would be summarizing comments from the recent team building session and these notes <br />would be provided to the Council. He noted he applied for the ICMA credentialed manager <br />program and was accepted. <br /> <br />Gina Bauman <br />Councilmember Bauman reported the Cable Commission met last Thursday and the group was <br />now down to nine members. She indicated Shoreview has elected to not remain a part of the <br />Cable Commission. She explained that Greatland Communication would be the new cable <br />provider in the metro area after the Comcast/Time Warner merger was complete. She was <br />pleased to report that CenturyLink was also moving into the metro area. <br /> <br />Paul Jacobsen <br />Councilmember Jacobsen reported the EDC met on December 17th. A presentation was given <br />by staff on the changes that were taking place. He noted the EDC would meet again on <br />January 21st. <br /> <br />Brian Strub <br />Councilmember Strub reported PREC met on January 7th and discussed the future parks <br />planned for the NBE. The group will be bringing forward their recommendations to the <br />Council in the near future. He encouraged residents to participate in the MLK Breakfast on <br />January 19th at the United Theological Seminary in New Brighton. He stated on January 25th <br />the New Brighton Sportsman’s Club would be sponsoring a fishing contest on Long Lake. He <br />commented that on February 7th there would be a Snowshoe Shuffle on Long Lake. Lastly, he <br />encouraged residents to visit there local ice rinks. <br /> <br />Mary Burg <br />Councilmember Burg reported the Public Safety Commission would be meeting again on <br />Monday, January 26th. She noted the Crosswalk Study would be discussed.
