December 9, 2014 Page 9 of 9 <br />to serve on the City Council. <br /> <br />Mary Burg <br />Councilmember Burg appreciated the differences in the Councilmembers and she believed it <br />made the group stronger. She commented the Public Safety Commission would not meet in <br />December. The group would meet again on January 26th. She commended the City for placing <br />4th in the nation for National Night Out this year, and 1st place in Minnesota. She reported the <br />Public Safety Commission was still taking donations for the Santa Cop Program. She <br />indicated Northeast Youth and Family Services was seeking donations at this time and all <br />donations would be matched, which meant double dollars for this important organization. She <br />wished everyone Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. <br /> <br />Mayor Jacobsen <br />Mayor Jacobsen reported he met with Eric Nelson, the new principal of Irondale High School <br />yesterday. He explained that Mr. Nelson was enthusiastic about working with the City of New <br />Brighton and the School Resource Officer. He was proud of the relationship the City had with <br />the school district and discussed how this benefited the community. He thanked the Council <br />and staff for their dedication to the City over the past year.
