February 10, 20 15 <br />Kevin Sclnnidt, CIV, was proud of the work that was completed on the New Brighton Exchange video. He <br />was honored to have been part of the award winning project. <br />Councilmember Bamnan thanked Mr. Sclnnidt fo r assisting the City with this video and fo r submitting it fo r <br />an aw ard. <br />Councilmember Jacobsen appreciated the partnership the City had with CIV. <br />Mayor Jacobsen commended Joe Hatch and Kevin Sclnnidt on their efforts and presented them with the Best <br />of the Midwest Invitational 2014 Award of Excellence. <br />4. Annual Update from Ramsey Col.ll1ty Commissioner Mary Jo McGuire <br />Ramsey COl.ll1ty Commissioner Mary Jo McGuire thanked the Col.ll1cil fo r their time. She appreciated the <br />local Health Fair that took place at the New Brighton Community Center. She commended the City on its <br />efforts in the lawsuit against the Federal Government She was pleased with the positive settlement and how <br />this would assist the City in providing a clean water supply. She u¢ated the ColDlcil on TCAA P and noted <br />all remediation work would be completed by May 20 15. She reported the TeAAP site bas been renamed <br />Rice Creek Common s. She then provided the COlmcil with the legislative agenda and explained in detail the <br />goals and activities completed by Ramsey County fo r its residents. <br />Councilrnember Strub thanked Commissioner McGuire fo r her continued partnership with the City of New <br />Brighton. <br />Col.ll1ci1member Jacobsen discussed the upcoming improvement projects fo r Col.ll1ty Road 96 and 10th Street. <br />He appreci ated the work Commissioner McGuire does fo r the City. <br />Councilmember Bamnan expressed her concerns regarding transit and traffic in and arol.ll1d New Brighton. <br />She l.ll1derstood that light rail would not be coming to her City and was being paid fo r by the entire metro area. <br />She encouraged Commissioner McGuire to closely review transit issues proposed fo r this region. She <br />questioned who paid fo r the cleanup ofTCAAP . Co mmissioner McGuire explained that the fed eral <br />government would be reimbursing the County fo r the cleanup to a commercial level and the Col.ll1ty would <br />be fimding the difference. <br />Col.ll1cilmember Bamnan requested the Col.ll1ty consider assisting the City of New Brighton with parcels that <br />needed cleanup. <br />Mayor Jacobsen believed that the #4 bus route should be extended finther into New Brighton He <br />encouraged Col.ll1ty Commissioner McGuire to review the City's crosswa1k study. <br />Consen t Agenda <br />1.
