Consider Resolution to enter into a Grant Agreement with the Minnesota Department of Publ ic <br />Safety fo r DWI Officer. <br />Counci1member Bawnan stated she had this item pul led from the Consent Agenda as she wanted to hear <br />additional information from staff. <br />Deputy Public Safety Director Tony Paetznick discussed the DWI Officer fimding that the City received from <br />the Minnesota Department of Public Safety. He commented the City was awarded $185,000 to purchase a <br />new squad car and provide the salary fo r a DWI officer. It was noted the City had a fo ur year option on the <br />grant <br />Counci1member Jacobsen thanked Deputy Director Paetznick for his assistance with the grant writing. <br />Mayor Jacobsen congratulated the Public Safety Department fo r being selected to receive DWI officer grant. <br />Motion by CounciImember Bauman, seconded by Councilmember Jacobsen to approve a Resolution <br />to enter into a Grant Agreement with the Minnesota Department of Public Safety fo r a DWI Officer. <br />4 Ayes, 0 Nays -Motion Carried <br />12.
