j <br />Councilmember Jacobsen noted he was in fa vor of six chickens fo r a lot size of 10,000 square fe et. For lots <br />10,00 1 to 20,000 square fe et, nine chickens would be allowed. For lots 20,00 1 to 45,000 square fe et, 12 <br />chickens would be allowed and fo r lots an acre in size, 24 chickens would be allowed. <br />Councilmember Bauman did not support 24 chickens on an acres sized lot. She would also like to further <br />discuss the proposed building materials and sizes fo r chicken coops. <br />The Council further discussed the range of chickens that should be allowed on various sized residential lots in <br />the City. <br />Councilmember Bauman discussed how chicken fe ces can spread air borne diseases. She questions if the City <br />would be monitoring how residents cleaned their coops. Code Enforcement Officer Hatch discussed how this <br />matter would be addressed by the Department of Health. <br />Mayor Jacobsen recommended that staff revise the code based on this evening 's discussion and report back to <br />the Council . <br />Fire Truck Purchasing Process <br />Lotter stated this item would be discussed at the March 3,20 15 City Council worksession meeting. <br />Worksession adj ourned at 6:17 pm <br />Respectfully Submitted, <br />Terri Haarstad <br />City Clerk
