<br />MINUTES <br />New Brighton Economic Development Commission <br />Regular Meeting – February 18, 2015 <br />7:30 a.m. <br /> <br />Members/Liaisons Present: Chair Paul Zisla, Commissioners, D.L. Beach, Monica Garcia-Perez, <br />Kevin Peck, Bruce Knight, Mike Murlowski, Bob Benke and Councilmember Paul Jacobsen <br /> <br />Members/Liaisons Absent: Commissioners Al Potter and Linda Zelm <br /> <br />Staff Present: Janice Gundlach- Assistant Director of Community Assets & Development/Planning <br />Director; and Dean Lotter-City Manager <br />Also Present: <br />Call to Order <br /> <br />Chairperson Zisla called the meeting to order at 7:30 a.m. <br /> <br />Approval of Minutes <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Beach, seconded by Commissioner Benke to approve the minutes from the <br />January 21, 2014 meeting. <br /> <br />Approved 7-0 <br /> <br />Report from Council Liaison <br /> <br />Councilmember Paul Jacobsen stated the Council signed a historic settlement regarding the City’s clean <br />water with the Federal Government. <br /> <br />Commissioner Garcia-Perez encouraged the Council to establish a 30-year plan for these funds to insure <br />the City protects its clean water supply. Lotter reported staff and Council would be addressing this <br />matter. Further discussion ensued regarding the City’s water supply. <br /> <br />Councilmember Jacobsen added that the 10th Street Bridge would be under construction this summer. <br />He indicated that Pulte Homes would also be constructing many new homes this year. <br /> <br />New Brighton Exchange Project Updates <br /> <br />Gundlach provided the EDC with an update on projects being constructed within NBE. She discussed <br />the progress being made on the CSI property. She commented Pulte Homes has two models complete <br />and 14 homes have been sold. It was noted APi would reopen construction on April 1st as all grading <br />and utility work was completed last fall. <br /> <br />Gundlach stated the goal of February’s meeting is to build consensus around 2-3 projects or initiatives <br />the Commission would like to incorporate into your 2015 Work Plan. These topics would be presented <br />to the City Council at the joint EDC/City Council meeting that is tentatively scheduled for March 18, <br />2015. The purpose of the joint meeting is for the Council to provide direction to the EDC on the contents <br />of your work plan. <br />
