April 28, 2015 Page 11 of 11 <br />Paul Jacobsen <br />Councilmember Jacobsen reported the Planning Commission met on Tuesday, April 21St. He <br />appreciated all of the work the Planning Commission and staff invested in the recent planning <br />cases. He indicated he attended a Metro Cities meeting last week where St. Anthony's City <br />Manager Mark Casey was elected the President of this organization. He then thanked <br />Applewood Pointe for being a gracious host. <br />Brian Strub <br />Councilmember Strub appreciated Applewood Pointe as well and hoped that the City would be <br />able to hold future Council meetings offsite. He referred to the City Pages and noted Hanson <br />Park was named the best disc golf course in the metro area. He indicated he recently toured the <br />Restore in New Brighton. He encouraged the public to visit, donate or volunteer at this store. <br />He explained the Public Safety Commission met on April 27th. He was pleased that Officer <br />Layton had returned after a one year deployment to Kuwait. He discussed the upcoming New <br />London to New Brighton Mini Cooper car run, which would take place on May 23"'. He <br />explained the New Brighton Triathlon would be held on June 6th at Long Lake Park and the <br />Historical Societies Rhubarb Fest would be held on June 7th <br />Mayor Jacobsen <br />Mayor Jacobsen reported the City has hundreds of volunteers.
