It is unlikely that the casual observer will notice the existence of our helipad because of
the planned landscaping design.
Through our sound testing, which was validated by a consultant from the City of New
Brighton, we are confident that the disruption to the community will be minimal. Our
helicopter is only marginally louder than the existing noise conditions created by the
proximity to the railroad tracks and highway (Reference Attachment `A').
The ordinance created by the City of New Brighton will put into place restrictions that
further mitigate APi's ability to disrupt the community through over -use of the helipad:
1. A designated flight path that avoids residential housing (Attachment `C') to be
used for every approach and exit from helipad.
2. Hours of operation will be restricted to Monday -Friday, lam to 7pm. Any
deviation from these hours will be recorded with the city prior to use.
3. Frequency of use will not exceed 20 trips per year. A trip includes a drop -of, a
pick-up, or both. The duration of each trip will be as quick as safely possible with
the intent of reducing the amount of time the community is exposed to helicopter
noise.
We believe our plan addresses and mitigates all concerns involving the helipad. The
intent of this project is to provide a safer, more permanent solution to landing the
corporate helicopter while maintaining our positive standing in New Brighton.
We look forward to building a stronger working relationship with the city of New
Brighton and our community.
Respectfully,
APi Group, Inc.
Kirk Chalmers
Attachments
A: Sound Study
B: Neighbor Communication
C: Flight Path
