Page 6 - October 25. 2005 New Brighton Council Minutes

I

approved plan which would require Kraus Anderson to present new plans
and proceed through nonna! approval processes. Based on the unknown
timing and nature of any revised plans, Mr. Femelius reconunended that
simply allowing the currently approved plans to remain expired was a
reasonable approach. The City Council shared its general state of
frustration with the delay in any development of the site.

Council Member Doffing suggested that allowing for a 180 day extension would
expedite development for the existing development plans, if that is what Kraus
Anderson decides to proceed with.

The City Manager confmned that Brighton Village is a tax increment district
created by the City Council in 2003 as a non-contiguous district with the new
Beiswenger Hardware Store development and that any new taxes generated
from the site would be captured during the life of the district.

Cynthia Hable, Kraus Anderson and project manager for this site provided an
update on the status of the project, indicating that there is renewed interest
from a grocery store as part of the redevelopment effort. She also indicated that
the intent is to demolish the existing building in November, 2005.

I

Council Member Moore-Sykes echoed the others frustration and reinforced the
community's desire for a grocery store to be included in the development.

Motion by Council Member Doffing, seconded by Council Member Burg to approve a 180
day extension to Kraus Anderson.

5 Ayes-O Nays Motion Carried
Commission Liaison Reports.
