i <br />July 28, 2015 Page 7 of 7 <br />Paul Jacobsen <br />Councilmember Jacobsen reported that National Night Out would be observed on Tuesday, <br />August 4th. He looked forward to visiting the neighborhood parties and meeting with his <br />neighbors. He then discussed the events planned for Stockyard Days. He explained the <br />Planning Commission would meet again on Tuesday, August 19th. He congratulated the <br />Irondale Robotics Team on another successful season. <br />Dean Lotter <br />City Manager Lotter reported the City was scheduled to have 140 block parties on National <br />Night Out. He stated the annual meeting with the Army would be held in September. This <br />conversation would include information regarding the new water issues. He indicated he <br />would be meeting with BARR Engineering next Wednesday regarding the Dioxane issue. <br />Mary Buri <br />Councilmember Burg reported the CPY Golf Ball Drop would be held on Saturday, August 1St <br />She looked forward to visiting a number of block parties on Tuesday, August 4"' for National <br />Night Out along with members of the Public Safety Department. She stated items would be <br />collected for the Ralph Reeder Food Shelf, along with school supplies. She thanked the <br />residents for their continued generosity. She discussed a golf tournament that was scheduled <br />for August 2"d at Brightwood Hills. She noted the 450' Annual Junior Golf Tournament would <br />be held on Monday, August 3rd from 10:15 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. She encouraged residents to visit <br />Dairy Queen on the third Tuesday of each month as 10% of the proceeds would be donated to <br />the Community Center to assist with providing Parks and Recreation programing scholarships. <br />It was noted the PREC would not be meeting in August. She encouraged all residents to read <br />through the most recent edition of the City newsletter. <br />Brian Strub <br />Councilmember Strub reported on Wednesday, July 29th from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. 10% of <br />the proceeds from the New Brighton Dairy Queen would be donated to the New Brighton <br />Ex.&rers program. He noted the Public Safety Commission would meet again on September <br />28t . He encouraged New Brighton residents to continue to conserve water through the <br />summer months. City Manager Lotter reported that the City's website had additional ideas on <br />efforts available to residents to assist with conserving water. <br />Mayor Jacobsen <br />Mayor Jacobsen reported as a part of Stockyard Days, the antique car tour would begin in New <br />London, Minnesota on Saturday, August 8th at 7:00 a.m. and would drive through New <br />Brighton around 3:00 p.m. He encouraged residents to participate in this wonderful event. <br />Adjournment <br />Motion by Councilmember Bauman, seconded by Councilmember Jacobsen to adjourn <br />the meeting. <br />5 Ayes, 0 Nays -Motion Carried, <br />Meeting adjourned at 8:34 p.m. <br />Dave J obsen, Mayor <br />ATTEST:,�-, ;4-2 a�L�— <br />Terri Haarstad, City Clerk <br />Adjournment <br />The meeting adjourned <br />at 8:34 p.m. <br />
