August 11, 2015 <br />proceeds will be donated to the Parks and Recreation Department to assist with scholarship <br />funding. <br />Paul Jacobsen <br />Councilmember Jacobsen thanked all New Brighton residents and the Public Safety <br />Department for participating in National Night Out. He was proud of the City's involvement. <br />He explained he enjoyed participating in Stockyard Days and wished the new ambassadors <br />well. He looked forward to meeting the new royalty. He reported the EDC met last <br />Wednesday and the group's discussion centered on business retention and expansion. <br />Brian Strub <br />Councilmember Strub discussed the wonderful events that have occurred in New Brighton over <br />the past two weeks. He thanked all of his neighbors in the community that participated in <br />National Night Out and Stockyard Days. He enjoyed meeting a large number of new <br />neighbors. He thanked all of the volunteers who served on the Stockyard Days board and the <br />Antiques Car Run. <br />Gina Bauman <br />Councilmember Bauman was pleased with the community's involvement in National Night <br />Out and Stockyard Days. She thanked all of the volunteers that made each of these events <br />possible. She reported the Cable Commission met recently and noted Comcast has requested <br />the formal negotiations process begin. She was pleased to report that HD equipment was <br />approved by the Cable Commission. She discussed the other changes that would be made to <br />the local cable programming noting New Brighton and St. Anthony would now be sharing <br />Channel 16. <br />Mayor Jacobsen <br />Mayor Jacobsen reported he participated in the antique car tour, which brought him from New <br />London to New Brighton. He discussed the history of this event and was pleased with how the <br />premier tour turned out again this year.
