October 27, 2015 Page 5 of 6 <br />indicated the five -car limit remained in place due to the fact this was the limit for two other similar requests. <br />Councilmember Burg was pleased that a new business would be coming to the City of New Brighton. <br />Motion by Councilmember Jacobsen, seconded by Councilmember Bauman to Adopt a Resolution <br />approving the request as submitted subject to seven (7) conditions. <br />5 Ayes, 0 hays -Motion Carried <br />Commission Liaison Deports, Announcements and Updates <br />Dean Lotter <br />City Manager Lotter reported staff was moving forward with pilot testing of the water <br />treatment program. He anticipated that a community -wide letter would be sent out to update <br />the public on the City's progress in the near future and would continue on a quarterly basis at <br />the Army's expense. <br />Gina Bauman <br />Councilmember Bauman reported on November 10th the Council would be holding a public <br />hearing to discuss the CenturyLink franchise. The Council would vote on the franchise on <br />November 24th. She explained the EDC would meet again on Wednesday, November 4th at <br />7:30 a.m. <br />Mary Burg <br />Councilmember Burg reported he attended the Northeast Youth and Family Services Taste of <br />the Northeast event last week. She was pleased by the attendance at the event. She <br />commented the NYFS Board would be meeting this Thursday. She explained she attended the <br />Public Safety Open House on Monday, October 26th and believed there were over 100 <br />residents in attendance. She noted she attended the EuroTech Open House and was pleased to <br />have this business in the City of New Brighton. She indicated the Ramsey County Library just <br />celebrated its 4th Anniversary and the hours have been expanded to 38 hours a week. She <br />reported the Community Center had over 85 parties in the month of October and had 39 parties <br />booked for November. She stated the Rice Creek Watershed District was working on a water <br />quality improvement project at Hanson Park. She noted there would be a public Open House <br />at the Community Center on November 12th at 7:00 p.m. She commented PREC would meet <br />again on November 3rd at 6:30 p.m. <br />Paul Jacobsen <br />Councilmember Jacobsen reported the Planning Commission met on October 20th. He <br />reviewed the items discussed by this group. He stated Northeast Bank would be having a flag <br />raising on Monday, November 2°d at 2:00 p.m. He indicated the Council would not be holding <br />a worksession meeting on November P due to the election. He encouraged residents to get <br />out and vote. <br />Brian Strub <br />Councilmember Strub reported he attended the Public Safety Open House on Monday event as <br />well. He thanked the Fire Division for reaching out to the Public in this way. He explained he <br />also attended the EuroTech Open House and was proud of how this building has been <br />enhanced. He stated on Thursday, October 29th the Ramsey County Sheriff's Department <br />would be holding a public forum on drugs at the Mounds View High School from 7:00 to 8:30 <br />p.m. He indicated on Thursday, November 4th the Public Safety volunteers would be <br />sponsoring a Blood Drive from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. <br />Commission Liaison <br />Reports, <br />Announcements and <br />Updates <br />
