DOGGIE DOO'S SPA & RETREAT
Visit Starla Tyree's dog grooming business
in downtown Shakopee before the holidays
and you'd think the world has gone to the
dogs. Every available spot is taken by a
dog being groomed, waiting to be groomed,
or having just been groomed. With so
much fur flying, Starla and partner Carrie
Engh knew they needed to expand. They
negotiated the lease of a large, free-
standing building just outside of downtown
and used their own equity and a loan from
MCCD to renovate the space. The new
space will allow Starla and Carrie the ability
to not only groom dogs, but to provide day
care and boarding to both dogs and cats.
OPFN"I
OMEW V -
to usrwlls
Metropolitan Consor-Eium
of Community Developers
3137 Chicago avenue
Minneapolis, k4N 55407
612-783-7337
wwww.mccdmn.org
www:opentobusinessm,n org
For more information:
Open to Business Program
Rob Smolund,
612-789-7337, ext. 260
Credit Building Program
Greg Gramza
612-789-7337, ext. 815
Partnerships
• BankCherokee
• Brooklyn Park Development Corpora-
tion
• BuildWealth Minnesota
• CommonBond Communities
■ Community Development Financial
Institution (CDFI) Fund
• Highland Bank
• Infinia Bank
• Latino Economic Development Center
• Lutheran Social Services East Side
Financial Center
• Minneapolis Department of Community
Planning and Economic Development
• Minnesota Department of Employment
and Economic Development
• Neighborhood Development Alli-
ance
• Neighborhood Development Center
• Northeast Bank
• Project for Pride in Living Center for
Working Families
• Security Bank Waconia
• Sunrise Banks
• U.S. Bancorp Community Develop-
ment Corporation
• Venture Bank
• Wells Fargo Community Develop-
ment Corporation
• Wells Fargo SBA Lending
- William C.
