Further discussion ensued regarding the City's work force and a recent employee evaluation process. He
asked for comments from the City Council regarding Lotter's recent decision to apply to work at another City.
Councilmember Burg stated people apply for new jobs all the time. She was glad that Lotter would be staying
but supported him if he was looking to advance his career.
Councilmember Jacobsen believed this was a normal way of doing business.
Mayor Jacobsen appreciated the commitment Lotter has made to this community. He thought Lotter was
doing a great job for the City of New Brighton and its residents.
Lotter thanked the Council for their support. He enjoyed going through the evaluation process as it allowed for
a time of direct communication and an avenue to address concerns. He encouraged the Council to address him
further with any concerns they may have about his commitment to the City, or for any other reason. He
explained that after speaking with individuals at Maple Grove, he withdrew his application due to the fact they
were uncertain of what they were looking for and he would be leaving a superior City for an average
organization. He indicated he was happy working for the City of New Brighton and looked forward to
continuing to address the needs of the City.
Worksession adjourned at 6:14 pm
Respectfully submitted,
Terri Haarstad
City Clerk
