Jacobson, Director of Public Safety <br />CITY MANAGER APPROVAL: <br />No comments to supplement this report Comments attached <br />Recommendation: <br />Approval of the Agreement between the City of New Brighton and the Mounds View School <br />District for School Resource Officer (SRO) services at Irondale High School, Highview Middle <br />School, Bel Air Elementary School, Sunnyside Elementary School, Pike Lake Education Center, <br />Early Childhood Education Center, and the area learning center for school year 2015-2016. <br />Legislative History: <br />The City of New Brighton and Mounds View Schools have a long history of cooperative <br />agreements for the use of Police Officers as SROs at various schools. The City Attorney has <br />previously reviewed and approved the agreement. <br />Financial Impact: <br />The City of New Brighton will be reimbursed 100% of the personnel and program costs for the <br />nine month school year for 2015-2016 for the School Resource Officers. This is estimated to <br />result in revenue in 2016 of approximately $253,700. <br />Explanation: <br />The current agreement will include three full-time School Resource Officers: Officer Tom Griffin <br />at Irondale High School; Officer Kim Boyd at Highview Middle School; and Officer Aaron Slack <br />serving Bel Air Elementary School, Sunnyside Elementary School, Pike Lake Education Center, <br />Early Childhood Education Center, and the Area Learning Center. <br />Anthony S.
