5 <br /> <br />Industry <br /> <br />New Brighton’s largest manufacturing industries include Hypro/ <br />Pentair Corporation, Donatelle Plastics and Mission Foods. <br />Other major employers include: APi, CSI, Medtox laboratory, <br />Extendicare Homes for the Elderly, Cub Foods, Micom Corpo- <br />ration, Print Craft, Trend Enterprises and General Office Prod- <br />ucts. Some retail and service businesses in New Brighton are <br />located at Rice Creek Center, Brighton Village and Main Street <br />Village. <br /> <br />Education <br /> <br />The City of New Brighton enjoys positive relationships with the <br />two Independent School Districts that serve families in the City. The St. Anthony-New Brighton School Dis- <br />trict, District #282, is located in St. Anthony and has an enrollment of approximately 1,700 students. While be- <br />ing one of the smallest geographic school districts in the state, the high school has repeatedly been recognized <br />by the State of Minnesota, Newsweek magazine, and US News and World Report. St. Anthony Village High <br />School students score very well on standardized assessments and college entrance exams. Mounds View <br />School District, District # 621 located in Shoreview, serves approximately 11,000 students. ISD 621 continues <br />to be one of the top ten highest performing districts in the state. Mounds View School District prides itself on <br />its innovative programs, cutting-edge classes, activities, clubs, and college credit earning opportunities. <br /> <br />Parks and Recreation <br /> <br />New Brighton maintains 13 neighborhood parks and open spaces- totaling 205 acres as part of its commitment <br />to providing recreational and wellness opportunities. The City has a long standing forestry program that creates <br />and maintains a beautiful urban forest with the help of dedicated community volunteers. The New Brighton <br />Community Center, a focal point of the City, offers recreational, cultural, educational and wellness programs. <br />The Center includes the Eagles Nest--one of the largest indoor playgrounds in the Twin Cities, a full size gym, <br />an indoor track and fitness center, many meeting rooms and banquet facilities. The New Brighton Parks and <br />Recreation Department offices are located in the <br />Community Center which is also the home of the <br />New Brighton Branch of the Ramsey County Li- <br />brary. Residents and visitors enjoy the Long Lake <br />Regional Park, owned and operated by Ramsey <br />County Parks and Recreation, which provides hik- <br />ing trails, beaches, picnic pavilions and 217 acres of <br />open space. Hansen, Totem Pole, Sunny Square and <br />Freedom Parks are among the New Brighton parks <br />that have rentable indoor “Neighborhood Centers” <br />as part of a $2.6 million park reinvestment program. <br />The City also operates Brightwood Hills Golf <br />Course and Club House—a 31 acre executive nine- <br />hole golf course. The clubhouse houses up to 72 <br />people and is available for rent mid-November <br />through mid-March. <br />Main Street Village <br />Brighton Community Center
