No public testimony was given. The Commission voted unanimously to <br />recommend adoption of the ordinance, consistent with the staff recommendation. The Planning <br />Commission noted appreciation to the Council for allowing them to discuss the topic of <br />Temporary Family Heath Care Dwellings in a work session format to determine a better local <br />legislative tool. <br /> <br />July 26, 2016. The City Council held a work session and discussed this topic. A written memo <br />was provided to Council during this work session, outlining the City’s options regarding the bill <br />signed into law on May 12, 2016. The Council recommended the City opt-out of the law and to <br />have the Planning Commission consider the item. The Council’s direction included having the <br />Commission discuss the topic of Temporary Family Health Care Dwellings in a future work <br />session to determine an alternative local legislative tool. <br /> <br />Financial Impact: None <br /> <br />Explanation: The City of New Brighton is requesting consideration of Ordinance No. 845 <br />opting out of Minnesota Statutes Section 462.3593, which permits temporary family health care <br />dwellings.
