The Public Works Director recommends that $3,750 for Lake Diane and <br />$2,100 for Bicentennial Pond be adopted as the proposed 2017 storm sewer improvement <br />taxing district tax levies. <br />Mayor Johnson asked if the residents surrounding Lake Diane and Bicentennial Pond supported the proposed <br />expenses. City Manager Lotter reported this was the case. <br /> <br />5 Ayes, 0 Nays-Motion Carried <br /> <br />Commission Liaison Reports, Announcements and Updates <br /> <br />Dean Lotter <br />City Manager Lotter reported staff would be meeting with the DX Response Team next week <br />along with the Army. He noted Mike Fix would be retiring. He explained staff was working <br />on the soft launch of the City’s new website. He hoped to review the new website with the <br />City Council at the October 4th worksession meeting. <br />Councilmember Jacobsen questioned when County Road E2 would be open to the public. <br />Community Assets and Development Director Schlichting anticipated E2 would be open in <br />two or three weeks. He reported efforts were focused on the ponding area this week. <br /> <br />Gina Bauman <br />Councilmember Bauman requested she be reinstated as a City Council Liaison. She believed <br />she was stripped of her positions due to the fact she began a petition against the City. She <br />questioned when the City Council would reconsider her reinstatement. <br />Councilmember Strub suggested this matter be discussed at an upcoming worksession meeting. <br /> <br />Brian Strub <br />Councilmember Strub reported he has had a somber and reflective week. He noted he visited <br />the Twin Cities Mobile Market on Saturday. He was interested in the Council further <br />discussing the demographics and needs of the community. He discussed a service project his <br />daughter had completed for 9/11. He offered his humble compassion to the Wetterling parents <br />and the law enforcement members that were able to bring Jacob home. He explained <br />September was National Preparedness Month and encouraged residents to visit <br />www.read y.gov. He indicated the Public Safety Department would be holding a Blood Drive <br />on Wednesday, September 21st. He encouraged the members of this community to find ways <br />to give back in personal and meaningful ways. <br /> <br />Mary Burg <br />Councilmember Burg reported the Farmer’s Market would continue on Wednesdays from 3:00 <br />p.m. to 7:00 p.m. through October. She noted this organization was hoping to continue the <br />market through the winter months. She discussed the topics addressed by PREC last week. <br />She indicated the Community Center was closed last week for cleaning and maintenance. She <br />explained $725 was donated by Dairy Queen to the Park and Recreation program for <br />scholarship funding. She stated the ThrivExpo for 55+ adults would be held on Thursday, <br />September 22nd from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. She noted a buckthorn event would be held at <br />Hanson Park on Thursday, September 22nd from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. She stated there would <br />be a holiday boutique at the Community Center from October 7th through October 11th. She <br />reported the North Suburban Cable Commission celebrated their 25th Anniversary last <br />Saturday.
