September 13, 2016 Page 7 of 7 Paul Jacobsen Councilmember Jacobsen reported the Planning Commission would meet on Tuesday, September 20th at 7:00 p.m. He explained a Pulte Home within New Brighton was being featured within the Parade of Homes. He noted all townhomes within The Exchange were sold and only 11 homes remained. He thanked the Public Safety Department for making drivers to be aware that students were back to school. He indicated the Rice Creek Watershed District would begin improvements on the Hanson Park in September. Mayor Johnson Mayor Johnson reported the EDC met last Wednesday and the group discussed New Brighton’s sense of place and the Old Highway 8 Corridor. She commented on the success of the Open to Business program. She stated she would be attending a Chamber of Commerce meeting on Wednesday where the TCAAP development would be discussed. She explained on October 9th the New Brighton Historical Society would be holding a Harvest Dinner. All residents within New Brighton over the age of 80 were invited to participate free of charge. She encouraged the public to attend the 24th Annual Music of the Night marching band event on Saturday, September 24th. It was noted performances begin at 5:00 p.m. Councilmember Bauman stated she received a call from a resident regarding the care with which the flag was removed from the Community Center on September 11th. Councilmember Strub invited the public to attend the St. John’s Church Annual Booya event on Sunday, September 25th.
