September 13, 2016 Page 7 of 7 <br />Paul Jacobsen <br />Councilmember Jacobsen reported the Planning Commission would meet on Tuesday, <br />September 20th at 7:00 p.m. He explained a Pulte Home within New Brighton was being <br />featured within the Parade of Homes. He noted all townhomes within The Exchange were sold <br />and only 11 homes remained. He thanked the Public Safety Department for making drivers to <br />be aware that students were back to school. He indicated the Rice Creek Watershed District <br />would begin improvements on the Hanson Park in September. <br /> <br />Mayor Johnson <br />Mayor Johnson reported the EDC met last Wednesday and the group discussed New <br />Brighton’s sense of place and the Old Highway 8 Corridor. She commented on the success of <br />the Open to Business program. She stated she would be attending a Chamber of Commerce <br />meeting on Wednesday where the TCAAP development would be discussed. She explained on <br />October 9th the New Brighton Historical Society would be holding a Harvest Dinner. All <br />residents within New Brighton over the age of 80 were invited to participate free of charge. <br />She encouraged the public to attend the 24th Annual Music of the Night marching band event <br />on Saturday, September 24th.
