October 25, 2016 Page 1 of 6 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Pursuant to notice thereof, a regular meeting of the New Brighton City Council was held Tuesday <br />October 25, 2016 at 6:30 pm in the New Brighton Council Chambers. <br /> <br />Present: Mayor Johnson, Councilmembers Bauman, Burg, Jacobsen and Strub <br />Absent: <br /> <br />Also Present: Dean Lotter-City Manager, Sarah Sonsalla-City Attorney, Brenda Davitt-Finance <br />Director, Tony Paetznick-Acting Director of Public Safety, Craig Schlichting-Community <br />Assets and Development Director, Terri Haarstad-City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />Call to Order <br />Mayor Johnson called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm. <br /> <br />Pledge of Allegiance <br />Mayor Johnson led the Council in the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> <br />Public Comment Forum <br />Mayor Johnson opened the Public Forum for comments from the public. <br /> <br />Robert Commers, 2910 Valley View Road, had a complaint against the Mayor. He explained <br />he requested the Stockyard Days Committee play a tape from an antique car run from years <br />ago. The Mayor failed to play the tape. He was told the tape would be turned over to the <br />Historical Society and the tape has not been played by the organization either. He indicated he <br />has called the Mayor eight times trying to retrieve the tape with no response. It was his <br />understanding the tape was to be left at City Hall. He commented the Mayor did not make any <br />effort to leave the tapes at City Hall. He stated he would file theft charges against the Mayor if <br />the tapes were not returned. <br /> <br />Mayor Johnson believed that the complaint was not part of her duties as Mayor as she was <br />serving on the Stockyard Days Committee.
