ProjeCt team <br />Key Personnel overview <br />the team of planners and landscape architects proposed to work on the new <br />brighton Comprehensive plan Update are experienced leading metropolitan <br />communities through the comprehensive planning process and have also <br />developed, through years of experience, familiarity with metropolitan Council <br />requirements for comprehensive planning. our team includes planners and <br />landscape architects who will bring substantial experience assisting communities <br />with comprehensive and redevelopment planning, including creating community <br />visions for redevelopment areas and identifying implementation strategies to help <br />cities generate positive results from their planning initiatives. <br />our team also includes urban design professionals whose guidance can help the City <br />establish standards to ensure that redevelopment areas function efficiently and will <br />be built with a character that is appropriate to the community. our planners have <br />extensive experience conducting land use analysis and planning on a broader scale <br />appropriate for comprehensive plans and on a more detailed level appropriate for <br />small areas such as downtowns and redevelopment districts. Finally, our planners <br />are also experienced conducting housing and parks planning and are familiar with <br />met Council requirements for those areas. <br />Brad Scheib, aiCp, vice president, will serve as principal in Charge for the new <br />brighton Comprehensive plan Update. in this role brad will provide oversight of <br />the project and will lend his expertise and advice to the redevelopment, land use <br />analysis, and implemenation components of the project. <br />brad brings over twenty years of experience to this project and he has an extensive <br />resume of comprehensive and redevelopment planning projects in the twin Cities, <br />including work on the 1998 Comprehensive plan for the City of new brighton. in <br />addition to his work in minnesota and iowa, he was the lead author of the ironwood, <br />michigan Comprehensive plan Update, which was recognized in 2015 with the top <br />award for a comprehensive plan by the michigan apa. brad’s creativity and drive to <br />innovate has benefited several of his clients, particularly in the area of developing <br />useful land use and implementation tracking tools and strategies. <br />Rita Trapp, aiCp, leeD ap, planner, will serve as project manager for the new <br />brighton Comprehensive plan Update. in this role she will oversee day-to-day <br />project operations and will lead the community and stakeholder engagement effort. <br />she will also provide planning expertise to the housing and parks and recreation <br />components of the project. she is currently working with the City of new brighton <br />to establish a park dedication fee structure, and she has participated in several <br />planning projects for north metro communities. <br />rita has provided excellent planning service to metropolitan area communities <br />through her work on comprehensive plans, park and recreation plans, and general <br />planning services. rita has also provided guidance to met Council staff by serving <br />on the local planning handbook Focus Group and a comprehensive plan training <br />program steering committee. rita also excels as a communicator and writer and <br />has taken the lead on many grant writing and active living projects, helping local <br />governments secure over $9 million in grants during her career. <br />Currently she is serving as project manager for the rochester park and recreation <br />system plan, which is on track to conclude by the end of summer 2016, and for a <br />park master planning project for olmsted County. she is also serving on a planning <br />team conducting a housing assessment for the City of eden prairie and has provided <br />planning services in the area of housing and parks on several comprehensive plans. <br />Comprehensive Plans <br />Albert Lea (top) <br />Johnston, Iowa (middle) <br />Parks and Community Planning <br />Chanhassen (bottom) <br />Comprehensive plan proposal3
