14 <br /> Officer DeBoer, Officer Krebsbach and Officer Riedel on the range <br /> <br />Officer DeDominces attended training for “The Bullet Proof Mind”. <br /> <br />X. OTHER ADMINISTRATIVE <br /> <br /> This section will review the ongoing administrative issues and meetings during the <br />month. This includes meetings, policy issues, ordinance changes, and personnel issues. <br />And, this also includes meetings of a county wide, regional, and/or statewide basis on <br />public safety related issues. <br /> <br />On December 14th interviews were held with candidates for the positions of Fire Captain. <br />The interview panel included Captain Ron Finney, Sr., Deputy Chief Tom Deschane, <br />Office Assistant Jen Minwegen and Maplewood Battalion Fire Chief Mike Lochen. <br /> <br />Director Jacobson attended the “Wake Keeping Service in Celebration of Henry McCabe <br />at the United Methodist Church in Brooklyn Center on December 18th. Mr. McCabe, <br />who was a reported missing person for several weeks before his body was discovered on <br />November 2nd in Rush Lake, was determined to have drowned. The service was well <br />attended especially by the Liberian Community. <br /> <br />A process for promoting Fire Captains was completed this month. Brad Krebsbach, <br />Mike Schute and Jerry Hedman will continue on as three of the five Fire Captains and <br />Charlie Prasek and Matt Farmer will be promoted effective January 1st. These positions <br />are “paid on call” but do provide first line supervision for training and on scene fire <br />command. Our thanks to Ron Finney, Sr. and Jay Frischman for their years of service <br />in leadership positions in the Fire Division. Both announced earlier this year that they <br />would not seek to continue on as Captains. <br /> <br />XI. RECOGNITION, NEWS AND INFORMATION <br /> <br /> This section will include “good news” information about our public safety personnel. <br />This will include formal and informal recognition of the department and/or its personnel <br />on or off duty. <br /> <br />Director Jacobson and Officer Griffin attended the funeral for 12 year old Gracelyn <br />VanGorden on Saturday, December 19th. Gracelyn died from Cystic Fibrosis. Gracelyn
