9 <br />Public Safety held a meeting on January 26th with several leaders from New Brighton <br />faith communities. The meeting was designed to build trust and improve relationships <br />with the faith community. All churches were invited and about one third responded by <br />attending. The meeting was led by Chaplain Dan Carlson and included a presentation <br />from Deputy Director Paetznick. Future meetings will be held with the faith community <br />to begin focusing on relational issues as well as working on safety issues at the churches. <br /> <br /> Chaplain Dan Carlson addressing the church leaders <br /> <br />VI. BIAS CRIME REPORTS <br /> <br /> This section will contain any information regarding bias and/or hate crimes in the City <br />of New Brighton. <br /> <br />There were no bias crime reports this month. <br /> <br />VII. VOLUNTEER SERVICES <br /> <br /> This section contains information on our various volunteer organizations related to <br />Public Safety. This includes the activities of the Public Safety Commission, Police <br />Reserves, Police Explorers, and Volunteers in Public Safety (VIPS). <br /> <br />Activity for the month includes the following: <br /> <br />The American Red Cross and Public Safety VIPS members teamed up for another blood <br />drive, this one held on January 6th at the Public Safety Center. 23 units were collected <br />from our blood drive! <br /> <br />Robert Allen, Chairman of the Public Safety Commission, gave the Public Safety <br />Commission annual report to Council on January 12th. Chairman Allen received many <br />complements and thanks on his leadership and service to the City and the Public Safety <br />Commission. <br />
