10 <br />The Public Safety Commission held their monthly meeting on January 25th at the Public <br />Safety Center. All members were in attendance. Sgt. Emerson conducted a presentation <br />on the Use of Force Continuum as well as State Law as it relates to use of force and use <br />of deadly force. Council Member Strub gave a council update and Mayor Johnson also <br />attended the meeting and introduced herself to the group. <br /> <br />The Police Reserves donated 99 hours in January! Reserve Officer Adam Nelson led the <br />group with 22 hours of donated time followed by Reserve Officer Nick Benedict with 18 <br />hours. <br /> <br />VIII. HOMELAND SECURITY AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT <br /> <br /> This section will review ongoing activities for homeland security and emergency <br />management. This includes the activities of the New Brighton Community Emergency <br />Response Teams (CERT). <br /> <br />No activity to report. <br /> <br /> <br />IX. TRAINING <br /> <br /> This section will review the training activities of our Public Safety personnel for the <br />month. <br /> <br />Officer/Firefighter Nerison attended one week of training for Emergency Responder <br />HAZMAT Tech Training at a FEMA training facility in Huntsville, Alabama.
