6 <br />On Friday, May 13from 7pm to 3am, the Ramsey County Sheriff's Office hosted the <br />Towards Zero Deaths (TZD) Hi-Viz DWI Saturation. 16 overtime funded officers and 4 <br />volunteer reserve officers concentrated on Hwy 694 in conjunction with the "state fishing <br />opener" that yielded the following: <br />• 170 traffic stops <br />• 10 people taken to jail <br />• 5 DWI arrests <br />• 17 drivers cited for DAR/DAS <br />• 4 vehicles towed <br />Notes: St Paul officer arrested a driver for DWI that was a Permit to Carry <br />holder in possession of a loaded handgun. St Anthony officer and a Maplewood <br />officer each cited 6 drivers for Driving After Revocation or Suspension. <br /> <br />On Saturday, May 7 from 2pm to 12am the Saint Paul Police hosted the TZD Hi-Viz <br />DWI Saturation on. in conjunction with Cinco de Mayo festivities. 27 overtime funded <br />officers and 6 volunteer reserve officers focused their efforts in Saint Paul that yielded <br />the following: <br />• 368 traffic stops <br />• 11 people taken to jail <br />• 5 DWI arrests <br />• 44 drivers cited for DAR/DAS <br />• 9 vehicles towed <br /> <br />Notes: St Anthony officer stopped 13 cars and 8 of the drivers had revoked or <br />suspended licenses. New Brighton officer with 8 of 15 drivers stopped being cited <br />for Driving After Revocation or Suspension. Another St Anthony officer with a <br />felony stop on an occupied stolen vehicle resulting in the arrest of the occupants. <br />TZD officers came upon and intervened in a large fight with over 50 juvenile <br />onlookers on University Ave resulting in two teenage girls being taken into <br />custody. <br /> <br />While on routine DWI Patrol Officer Farmer observed a vehicle traveling on West <br />County Road H in the area of Old Highway 8 NW do a “burnout” in front of him causing <br />smoke and the odor of burning rubber. Officer Farmer stopped the vehicle and could <br />smell the odor of alcoholic beverage emanating from inside vehicle. The, Driver Chad <br />Maxwell (1/5/92), admitted to drinking only one beer. Maxwell was asked to perform <br />field sobriety tests which he failed to perform properly and he was arrested for DWI. He <br />later provided an evidentiary breath sample indicating an alcohol concentration of .11 and <br />he was booked at the Ramsey County Law Enforcement Center for 4th Degree DWI. <br />16005743 <br /> <br />On May 19th Sergeant Emerson’s Team with Officer Amberg, Wakasugi, Farmer, and <br />Xiong made 11 traffic arrests in one shift including: <br />o Driving After Revocation Citation-3 <br />o Driving After Cancellation Citation-1 <br />o Driving After Suspension Citation-1 <br />o No Minnesota Driver’s License Citation-2 <br />o No Insurance Citation-1 <br />o 2nd Degree DWI Test Refusal
