14 <br /> <br />VIII. HOMELAND SECURITY AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT <br /> <br /> This section will review ongoing activities for homeland security and emergency <br />management. This includes the activities of the New Brighton Community Emergency <br />Response Teams (CERT). <br /> <br />On Sunday May 8th Deputy Fire Chief Hamdorf was deployed as part of the Minnesota <br />All Hazards Incident Management Team to the City of Embarrass in northern Minnesota <br />to manage a large wildfire. The wildfire was approximately 1.5 miles long and .5 miles <br />wide and destroyed two residences. The fire was brought under control and the team <br />demobilized on Wednesday evening. <br /> <br />IX. TRAINING <br /> <br /> This section will review the training activities of our Public Safety personnel for the <br />month. <br />Acting Sergeant Sypniewski, Officer Riedel, and Officer Wakasugi took the opportunity <br />during a shift to conduct roll call training. The roll call trainings are done daily and are <br />crafted by Sergeant Moore. <br />
