BIAS CRIME REPORTS <br /> <br /> This section will contain any information regarding bias and/or hate crimes in the City <br />of New Brighton. <br /> <br />There were no bias crime reports this month. <br /> <br />VII. VOLUNTEER SERVICES <br /> <br /> This section contains information on our various volunteer organizations related to <br />Public Safety. This includes the activities of the Public Safety Commission, Police <br />Reserves, Police Explorers, and Volunteers in Public Safety (VIPS). <br /> <br />Activity for the month includes the following: <br /> <br />On Wednesday, September 21st the VIPS, under the direction of member Dallas Schute <br />held a blood drive at the Public Safety Center. The blood drive was very successful and <br />collected 22 units of blood. <br /> <br />During the month of September the Volunteers In Public Safety donated 104.75 hours. <br /> <br />Officer Troy Hyland and Brianna Riedel were selected to assist Officer Slack as program <br />leaders for the New Brighton Explorer group. <br /> <br />The Reserves donated 73 hours of their time during the month of September. <br /> <br />The Reserves assisted with Music of the Knight band competition and with the St. John’s <br />Fallfest. <br /> <br />During the Reserves monthly meeting they took a tour of the Law Enforcement Center, <br />Juvenile Detention Center, and Detox. <br />
