The work being done at
Hansen Park is a big job and will take a lot of patience from residents
living on the park. Some of the residents have encroached on the park
and will need to be pushed back to their property. The project will
much improve the water quality and help control some of the flooding
that has been an issue throughout the City. The Rice Creek
Watershed District is paying for this project. Mayor Johnson thanked
the Commission and Director Breuer for their great work they are doing
in the Parks and Recreation Department. It's been spectacular being a
part of this, seeing the great things that are happening. Vermont Park
was mentioned with the upgrades. The Council made a visit to
Vermont and it is the Council's hope to have more visits in all of the
parks. It is a great opportunity to see the parks and meet the residents
in the area.
