NEW BRIGHTON PARKS, RECREATION, AND ENVIRONMENTAL <br />cyof COMMISSION <br />)NEW MINUTES <br />BRIwfIIbN JANUARY 6 2016 <br />the city that works for you � <br />Call to Order <br />The meeting was called to order by Chair Kunesh-Podein at 6:30 p.m. <br />Roll Call <br />Members present: Commissioners Brunell, Eischen, Fields, Frischman, Justin, <br />Kunesh-Podein, McEathron, Parker, Stenglein <br />Members absent: None <br />Also Present: <br />Sandy Breuer, Director of Parks and Recreation; Chris Wolla, Parks <br />Superintendent and Council Liaison Burg. <br />III. Minutes of November 4, 2015 <br />Chair Kunesh-Podein noted that the minutes reflect that Jason Hicks was <br />present, which was an error. <br />MOTION, BY COMMISSIONER JUSTIN, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER <br />FRISCHMAN, TO ACCEPT THE NOVEMBER 4, 2015 MINUTES WITH NOTED <br />CORRECTION TO REMOVE JASON HICKS FROM BEING PRESENT. <br />luIs] 19IM 01[N_1VV12191 <br />IV. Old Business <br />a. PREC Year in Review <br />Chair Kunesh-Podein delivered the Power Point presentation to PREC <br />members and viewing audience on the 2015 Year in Review and upcoming <br />projects in 2016 which will include a park tour in 2016 for PREC members. <br />b. Review Commissioner Expectations <br />Director Breuer stated this was in your packet of information and was also <br />distributed in the Commission Orientation. Director Breuer delivered the <br />PowerPoint presentation regarding the Commissioner Expectations. <br />V. New Business <br />a. iPad Discussion <br />Chair Kunesh-Podein explained to the Commission that iPads were being <br />considered for all Commissioners in an effort to go green and cut down on the <br />amount of paper distributed each month. A survey went to each PREC <br />commissioner. A few comments by Commissioners are as follows: <br />• A Commissioner stated he did not feel another electronic device was <br />necessary for him. He does have a tablet that he brings. He doesn't <br />feel the paper is an extreme amount. He prefers to have the cost <br />savings go to one of the parks. <br />Chair Kunesh-Podein stated if individual commissioners refused the <br />iPad, we would not be able to put that money toward a park, but it <br />would go into the general fund. <br />January 6, 2016 Parks, Recreation and Environmental Commission Minutes Page 1 <br />
