<br /> <br />Public Safety Commission <br />April 25, 2016 <br /> <br /> <br />Attending: Commissioner Allen, Commissioner Anderson, Commissioner Boyd, <br />Commissioner Conway, Commissioner Donohue, Commissioner Eichers, <br />Commissioner Howard, Commissioner Lamp, Commissioner Schumann, <br />Council Member Strub, Director Jacobson, Dave Matteson (Allina Health), <br />City Clerk Terri Haarstad, IT Administrator Andre Barte, and Mr. Kyle <br />Hartnett, Kennedy & Graven <br /> <br />Absent: Commissioner Hollimon <br /> <br /> <br />Call to Order/Roll Call <br /> <br />Commissioner Allen called the April 25, 2016 meeting to order at 6:30 pm and roll call was taken. <br />Commissioner Allen introduced and welcomed our two new commissioners; Commissioner Sara <br />Conway and Commissioner George Howard. <br /> <br />March Meeting Minutes <br /> <br />The March meeting minutes were reviewed. Commissioner Lamp made a motion to approve the <br />March meeting minutes; Commissioner Donohue seconded. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Public Hearing/Presentation <br />A. Commission Expectations – Terri Haarstad, City Clerk <br /> <br />Ms. Terri Haarstad, City Clerk, attended the April Public Safety Commission meeting to review <br />Commission Expectations and the City IT Policy. <br /> <br />Currently, there are four advisory commissions: <br /> Planning Commission – advises the Council on all city land use planning matters. <br /> Economic Development Commission (EDC) – advises the Council on matters concerning <br />industrial and commercial development for the city. <br /> Parks, Recreation, Environmental Commission (PREC) – advises the Council on the proper <br />use of and care for parks and natural environment and advises on policies covering <br />recreational activities of the city. <br /> Public Safety Commission – advises the Council on matters related to the goals, policies, and <br />operations of public safety functions. <br /> <br />Ms. Haarstad reviewed the Standards of Operations for commission members which include: comply <br />with the laws and policies in state statute, employee handbook, and the city council’s own meeting <br />expectations; be independent, impartial, and fair in judgment and actions; use your position for the <br />public good, not for personal gain; and, encourage public confidence in the integrity of city <br />government. <br /> <br /> <br />
