.lune 14- 2016 Pane 5 orb <br />Gina Bauman <br />COUncllmember Bauman requested the Council discuss the City Manager making false and <br />disparaging comments of the City Council and how this could be handled in the future. <br />Mayor Johnson recommended that this be addressed at a future worksession meeting and that <br />the Council also address how to handle COUncilmembers making false or disparaging <br />comments about the Mayor. She reminded Councilmember Bauman that this was a time for <br />liaison reports. <br />Councilmember Bauman noted she had nothing to report. <br />Brian Struh <br />Council member Strub congratulated Firefighter Chris Rother for completing his ninth <br />marathon. He was proud to report that the Public Safety Department has now run 136 <br />marathons. He stated the Fire Division recently completed a Fill the Boot campaign for <br />Muscular Dystrophy and more than $11,000 was collected in 2016. He explained Fire Captain <br />Jerry Hedman would be retiring after more than 30 years of service with the City of New <br />Brighton. He wished Officer Kathy McNeally's a happy retirement noting she had been with <br />the department for the past 25 years. He indicated the Public Safety Commission would meet <br />next on Monday, June 27`' at 6:30 p.m. The Ramsey County Attorney Office would be <br />discussing auto theft with the group. <br />Paul Jacobsen <br />Councilmember Jacobsen reported Fire Fighter Andre recently finished a half marathon with a <br />personal best. He said farewell to Heidi Sedlacek and Shannon Wood and thanked both for <br />their dedicated service to the City. He indicated the Planning Commission would meet next on <br />Tuesday, June 21S` at 7:00 p.m. He explained he would be attending the League of Minnesota <br />Cities Conference in St. Paul fi-om June 151h through June 17th <br />Mary Burg <br />Councilmember Burg reported she attended the North Suburban Cable Commission meeting <br />where she heard the audit. Discussion was also held regarding the job openings at both <br />Comcast and CenturyLink. She stated she participated in the Mayor's Cup and was pleased by <br />the great turnout for this event. She indicated the Park and Recreation recently toured the <br />City's parks. She noted the new Farmer's Market would begin on Wednesday's in July. She <br />explained the PREC would be meeting next on Wednesday, July 6th. <br />_Mayor Johnson <br />Mayor Johnson reported she participated in the Mayor's Cup as well and found this to be a <br />wonderful event. She explained each of the Councilmembers would be debriefed by the DX <br />team. She noted the North Metro Mayors have canceled their meeting for June due to the <br />League of Minnesota Cities Conference. She stated she attended the Memorial Day parade. <br />She was pleased to report the County Road E2 project was on schedule. She indicated she has <br />been meeting with the EDC and discussed a recent newspaper article on the City's sense of <br />place. She welcomed Council and public comments regarding how to create a further sense of <br />place within New Brighton. She indicated a Stockyard Days report would be provided to the <br />Council on June 28"'. Any vendors interested in joining the Farmer's Market were encouraged <br />to participate in this local event. <br />Mayor Johnson commented on an article in the Slay & Tribune. She believed this article was <br />not reflective of the City Council. It was her hope that the Council would be able to put a line <br />
