New Brighton City Council Norms of Behavior 2017. <br />Motion by Councilmember Strub, seconded by Councilmember Jacobsen to approve the Consent <br />Agenda as presented. <br />Mayor Johnson discussed the proposed 'No Parking" signs and encouraged the public to review the meeting <br />packet for finther information regarding this matter. She commented on the City Manager's employment <br />contract. She explained City Manager Lotter was a finalist for a position in another part of the country. This <br />led her to have a sit down meeting with City Manager Lotter about the opportunities that remain in New <br />Brighton. She reported that she made a commitment upon becoming Mayor to address the City's water issue. <br />This led her to believe the City Manager's position should be protected, along with knowledge he has of the <br />situation. <br />Councilmember Bauman noted the City Manager would now make $144,000 and this amount would be <br />increased on January 1 " of each year. In addition, the City would be putting $5,000 a year into his retirement. <br />She encouraged the public to review the contract as it differed from the contract previously approved. <br />Councilmember Jacobsen commented on the Council retreat and invited the public to read through the <br />summary of this event under Consent Agenda Item l Oa. <br />Mayor Johnson noted she would be reading the City Council Norms of Behavior aloud for the record at the <br />next Council meeting. <br />3 Ayes,1 Nay (Bauman) - Motion Carried <br />3.
