April 11, 2017 <br />Public Hearing <br />1. Public Improvement Hearing for Project 17-1, 2017 Street Rehabilitation <br />City Manager Lotter indicated Community Assets and Development Director Schlichting would be <br />presenting this item to the Council. <br />Community Assets and Development Director Schlichting explained the purpose of this item is to <br />hold the Public Improvement Hearing for proposed Project 17-1, 2017 Street Rehabilitation. <br />Staff provided a presentation on the Feasibility Study noting the street and utility <br />improvements that would be completed and discussed on the project timeline. It was noted the <br />total project costs were estimated to be $2.2 million. The estimated assessment per lot was <br />$2,700. He explained if the Council approves the project at the Public Improvement Hearing, <br />staff will prepare plans and specifications based on the input received at the improvement <br />hearing and from previous comments received. <br />The Public Hearing was opened at 6:58 p.m. <br />Mayor Johnson asked for comments on the Improvement Hearing, there were none. <br />Motion by Councilmember Burg, seconded by Councilmember Jacobsen to close the <br />Public Hearing. <br />5 Ayes, 0 Nays - Motion Carried <br />The Public Hearing was closed at 6:59 p.m. <br />Motion by Councilmember Strub, seconded by Councilmember Burg to adopt a Resolution <br />ordering Project 17-1, 2017 Street Rehabilitation as proposed in the Feasibility Study, <br />authorize staff to proceed with the preparation of the plans and specifications and <br />designate the Director of Community Assets and Development as the engineer for this <br />improvement. <br />5 Ayes, 0 Nays -Motion Carried <br />Council Business <br />1. Consider Resolution Making Appointments to Municipal Advisory Commissions. <br />Motion by Councilmember Jacobsen, seconded by Councilmember Burg to adopt a <br />Resolution Approving the Appointments to Municipal Advisory Commissions. <br />Councilmember Bauman stated as a whole she supported the appointments, however, she did not support the <br />City Council pulling a Commission member from their seat when their term had not expired. For this reason, <br />she would not be supporting the motion. <br />4 Ayes, l Nay (Bauman opposed) - Motion Carried <br />Commission Liaison Reports, Announcements and Updates <br />Dean Lotter <br />City Manager Lotter reported last week he given a presentation on the City's water at the <br />AWWA meeting. He explained staff was working on the Deputy Clerk's citizenship in order <br />to keep her in the City of New Brighton. He stated the City's hosting service has expressed <br />concern with the rate of growth on the City's website and a new host was being pursued. <br />Page 3 of 4 <br />Public Hearina <br />1.
