<br />Page 5 - November 22, 2005 New Brighton Council Minutes <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />6, <br /> <br />Considemtion of supporting Ramsey County Regional Rail Authority <br />interest in acquiring TCAAP railroad conidor in New Brighton. Report <br />No, 05-257. Resolution No. 05-102. <br /> <br />The City Manager gave an explanation of the City's interest in securing the long <br />term preservation of the TCAAP rail conidor extending north out of Long Lake <br />Regional Park into Arden Hills. He explained that the Ramsey County Regional Rail <br />authority had expressed interest in playing a lead role in acquiring this conidor in <br />both New Brighton and Arden Hills for the purpose of preserving the corridor for <br />long term transportation purposes. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Moore-Sykes, seconded by Council Member Burg to <br />move staff recommendation supporting the involvement of the Ramsey County <br />Regional Rail Authority for negotiating and acquiring the TCAAP railroad corridor <br />in New Brighton for the purpose of preserving it for future transportation <br />opportunities and if, feasible, possible economic development purposes. <br /> <br />4 Ayes - 0 Nays, Motion Carried <br /> <br /> <br />ommission Liaison Re orts Announcements and U dates <br />Municipal Advisory Commission Reports: <br /> <br />1. Council Member Mary Burg - Planning Commission. <br />Council Member Burg commented on the Design Guidelines packet offered by <br />Director of Community Development, Grant Fernelius. <br /> <br />2. Council Member Ann Hoffman - Parks, Recreation, and Environmental <br />Commission. <br /> <br />3. Council Member Sharon Doffing - Economic Development Commission- <br />Council Member Doffing agreed with Council Members' Burg's appreciation for the <br />Northwest Quadrant design guidelines. <br /> <br />4. Council Member Kim Moore-Sykes - Public Safety Commission- <br />Council Member Moore-Sykes reported there was no Public Safety Commission <br />meeting, and the upcoming meeting would be November 30th. <br /> <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />6.
