He wished everyone a Merry <br />Christmas and Happy Holidays. <br /> <br />Mary Burg <br />Councilmember Burg reported the Eagle’s Nest broke records this past month with the number <br />of events planned in November. She encouraged the public to review the most recent <br />community flyer which lists the events being held at the Community Center. She noted the <br />Community Center would be closing early on Christmas Eve and would be closed on <br />Christmas Day. She invited residents to get out and visit the local skating rinks on December <br />21st. She indicated the Park and Recreation Commission would meet next on Wednesday, <br />January 4th. She encouraged residents to consider making a contribution to a local non-profit <br />this holiday season. <br /> <br />Paul Jacobsen <br />Councilmember Jacobsen reported the Ramsey County League of Local Government met last <br />Thursday where an election recap was provided by guest speaker Brian Schultz. He noted the <br />Planning Commission would not be meeting in December. He thanked each member of the <br />Planning Commission for their service to the City of New Brighton. He wished the Council, <br />staff and all New Brighton residents Happy Holidays. <br /> <br />Mayor Johnson <br />Mayor Johnson thanked the Council and staff for their assistance and approval of the 2017 <br />budget and tax levy. She reviewed the thank you notes she received from Highview students <br />for the presentations that were made around the election. She explained she attended an NYFS <br />meeting last Thursday where the recent traffic accident in Mounds View was discussed. She <br />thanked the entire community for their efforts in helping the families that were impacted by <br />this accident.
