REQUEST FOR COUNCIL CONSIDERATION <br />ITEM DESCRIPTION: Consideration of the Resolution Amending the 2016 General Fund <br />Budget <br />DEPARTMENT HEAD’S APPROVAL: Brenda Davitt <br />CITY MANAGER’S APPROVAL: <br />No comments to supplement this report ___ Comments attached ___ <br />Recommendation: Adopt the Resolution Amending the 2016 General Fund Budget. <br />Purpose: To improve the readability of the Annual Financial Report, small individual fund types, such <br />as Parks Donations, Operating Grants, DUI & Drug Forfeitures, and General Projects, are combined into <br />the General Fund. <br />Legislative History: The City annually adopts budgets on the basis set forth by State Statute, and <br />generally accepted accounting principles. Although the City adopts a budget, additional measures are <br />necessary to show that all expenditures within the General Fund are within budget appropriations when <br />presented in the annual financial statement. <br />The year-end budget adjustments reflect the additional revenue and expenditures that are offset by <br />unbudgeted grants, donations, or forfeitures. <br />The following amendment to the 2016 General Fund Budget is submitted for Council consideration: <br />The amendment shown above is reflected in the attached excerpt of the 2016 Financial Statement <br />(unaudited). The amendment is incorporated in the column marked “final” budget.
