A-12 Appendix A DRAFT
Survey Responses: Gateways
ID #List an amenity you would like to see in the Gateway areas of New Brighton
1 Have NB welcome and "thanks for coming" signs on either side of this bridge. Add non-problematic vegetation in hanging
planters to this bridge (towards making NB 694 section a greener corridor)
2 I would love to see a "welcome to new brighton" sign go in, or maybe just a cool commissioned sculpture from a local artist.
3 A welcome sign with business names down old 8 to connect traffic and highlight energy down a road less taken than silver
lake rd
4 Install a nice sign that welcomes people to New Brighton, similar to the Arden Hills signage on the east side of 35 W.
5
Add attractive landscaping, relevant arrows/signage to key nearby places in the city, prominently feature full NB logo,
build in some kind of plan for future digital interaction (per automated cars, and public transport development)
Hard to have a welcoming gateway with most spots identified. Roundabouts could represent a better option for NB
gateways, add landscaping and signage in middle, cars drive *around* gateway for more visibility, reduce accidents with
roundabouts (?)
6 Signage with lights
