Community Engagement PlanDRAFT A-13 Survey Responses: Parks ID #What is your favorite park in New Brighton?How would you improve the park system in New Brighton? 1 Long Lake Regional Park 2 Sunny Square Park 3 Sunny Square Park PLEASE We need Parking lot lights & more lighting in general at Sunny Square Park. We have asked many times before & It's a safety issue. I do think our little park gets ignored when it comes to updates. Have you looked at that Hockey rink? It needs a replacement. The neighbors try to keep it in repair. We certainly bring in revenue with the Park Shelter being rented out every weekend. Could some of that revenue go back into our Park? Thank you. 4 Long Lake Regional Park 5 Hansen Park I would love for the bathrooms to be open to the public during Psrk hours. 6 Hansen Park Stop cutting down all the trees and making every natural area look like a golf course. Let nature happen 7 Long Lake Regional Park I like that the parks are being connected by trails- I want to see more of that. I want to be able to bike from my house to a trail and be able to travel on that trail without hitting a "dead end". I am excited to see the finished Hansen Park! 8 Hansen Park This cross walk into the park from busy 7st nw has no lighting, and weak signage considering the traffic. Now that we are fixing this area of the park & it has been extended a year it would be a great time to fix this cross walk safety issue. 9 Hansen Park Upgrade the paths and lighting. 10 Totem Pole Park It would be nice to have a dog park. A system of trails connecting the different parks. 11 Hansen Park Enforce no smoking and no loud music and no pet waste. Post signage for residents to contact the city if an offense is occurring. Better waste management - ie, a McD bag is left near the garbage because its full or its owner was too lazy, and critters then scatter the remains everywhere... Frisbee Golf park is cool idea, but it brings smokers huffing away.
